Real World Applications: Students applying physics to their world

To help students critically think about how physics applies to them, and to help them understand topics better by explaining them to someone else, I ask students to create an "RWA" project. This RWA involves a topic of their choice that they use to help their friends/family/co-workers understand physics better.

"As much as I hate to admit that the RWA actually helped me, it truly did. [It] helped me understand how to apply the conceptual knowledge I had about torque...to an actual problem. I understood how to use the equations and creating my own problem to solve was really helpful."
